LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) – Clean and Efficient Energy
LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) is a clean, efficient and energy-efficient fuel, used in transport, power generation and industry. Its liquefaction process at -162°C makes it a compact liquid that is easy to transport, reducing its volume by 600% compared to natural gas in its gaseous state.
It complies with international standards, such as ISO 6976 and ISO 13686, guaranteeing quality and efficiency.

Classification of Gas Types and Their Uses
Gases can be classified according to their origin, chemical composition, and use. The main types of gas and their classification are detailed below:
According to their origin
Gas Natural (GN)
-
Composition: Mainly methane (CH₄).
-
Origin: It is extracted from underground fossil deposits.
-
Example: LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas), CNG (Compressed Natural Gas).
-
Uses: Transportation, power generation, industry, heating.
Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG)
-
Composition: Mixture of propane (C₃H₈) and butane (C₄H₁₀).
-
Origin: Oil refining or natural gas extraction.
-
Example: Gas in cylinders, Autogas (LPG for vehicles).
-
Applications: Kitchens, heating, transportation, industries.
Industrial Gases
-
They include: Hydrogen (H₂), Nitrogen (N₂), Oxygen (O₂), Argon (Ar), Helium (He), Carbon Dioxide (CO₂).
-
Origin: Chemical production or air separation.
-
Applications: Welding, refrigeration, hospitals, industrial processes.
Biogas ♻️
-
Composition: Methane (CH₄) and carbon dioxide (CO₂).
-
Origin: Fermentation of organic waste (garbage, animal excrement, plants).
-
Uses: Renewable energy generation, heating
Syngas
-
Composition: Carbon Monoxide (CO), Hydrogen (H₂) and Carbon Dioxide (CO₂).
-
Origin: Industrial processes such as coal or biomass gasification.
-
Uses: Production of synthetic fuels, ammonia, methanol.

According to your Physical Condition
-
Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) → Natural gas stored at high pressure.
-
Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) → Natural gas cooled to -162°C for transport.
-
Dissolved gas (such as acetylene in acetone) → Stored in a liquid medium for stability.
According to Your Main Use
-
Energy Gases → NG, LPG, Biogas, Syngas (used as fuels).
-
Industrial Gases → O₂, N₂, CO₂, H₂ (used in production processes).
-
Medical Gases → Oxygen, nitrous oxide (hospitals and treatments).
-
Refrigerant gases → ammonia (NH₃), CO₂, Freon (air conditioning and refrigeration).
The classification of gases depends on their origin, state and application. Their use impacts energy, transport, industry and health, being fundamental for the global economy.
