JET FUEL A-1: Reliable Energy for Aviation
Jet Fuel A-1 gets its name from its classification within aviation turbine fuels. The "A-1" designation stems from the need to distinguish different types of fuels based on their technical specifications and uses in the aeronautical industry, making them more adaptable to global air operations and providing greater safety and performance in commercial and military flights.
Technical Classification
-
There are several types of jet fuels, and Jet A-1 is an improved variant of Jet A, with a lower freezing point (-47°C instead of -40°C), making it ideal for international flights and in cold climates.
-
The addition of special additives allows for greater stability and resistance to extreme conditions.
Difference from Other Fuels
-
Jet A: Used primarily in the U.S. and has a higher freezing point.
-
Jet B: Contains more naphtha and kerosene, making it more volatile and suitable for extremely cold climates.
-
JP-8: Military variant with additional additives to improve safety and long-term storage.
